Understanding the impact of Adverse Childhood Experiences (ACEs) and how to build protective factors to increase children’s positive outcomes

April 26, 2025 @ 12:30 pm - 3:45 pm
Free – $20.00

For: ALL Caregivers
Trainer: Dr. Mary Sciaraffa, CFLE
Cost: $20 per person

CDA Goal Area 3: To support social and emotional development and to provide positive guidance
Description: Brain development in the early years is especially susceptible to toxic stress caused by Adverse Childhood Experiences. Toxic stress has the capacity to physically change a child’s brain and be hardwired into the child’s biology. Adults can assist in increasing physical health and mental well-being for children who have encountered Adverse Childhood Experiences. Participants will learn how they are in a unique position to assist in attending to the child’s unique health and developmental needs.  Participants will discover the link between resilience and children’s future positive outcome. In this class you will earn three (3) clock hours.

Please complete the Director/Owner information in addition to purchasing tickets. If the director/owner is also attending, they must be included in the total ticket number. Must add staff names with a current email address. A Zoom Link will be sent to each person with instructions and handouts.
